Enrollment Process for CareLink Members

Welcome To Community First Mercado Plan!

This page has been designed to assist you as you transition from CareLink into your new health plan, Community First Mercado Plan. Please use the information and resources below to learn more.

NOTE: ALL CARELINK SERVICE CENTERS CLOSE FOR LUNCH FROM 12 P.M. TO 1 P.M. EXCEPT ROBERT B. GREEN.

What is Community First Mercado Plan?

Community First Mercado Plan is a qualified health plan on the Health Insurance Marketplace®. Mercado Plan offers expanded health benefits and coverage in addition to all other services you currently have through CareLink, including:

Expanded prescription drug coverage
Emergency ambulance services
Hearing aids
Pediatric vision care for dependents
Durable Medical Equipment
Chiropractic care
Hospice care

How do I complete my enrollment in Community First Mercado Plan?

Simply contact CareLink to verify your information, like your family’s gross income and household size. We can also help you add dependents (children) to your plan and find out if you qualify for a premium tax credit that could help lower your premium. You can contact CareLink at 210-358-3350. Monday through Thursday 8 A.M. – 5 P.M. and Friday 9 A.M. to 4 P.M.

Will I have to find new doctors as a Community First Member?

No. Community First and CareLink share the same network of doctors, specialists, and hospitals. This means you can continue to see all the same providers you see now as a CareLink member.

Does Community First offer translation services?

Yes. Community First Member Services Representatives speak both Spanish and English, and there are free translation services available to you for your health care visits.

What will I have to pay to get health care services?

As a Community First Mercado Plan Member, you will experience cost savings when using your health care coverage. Some health care services may require a copay. A copay is a flat fee you pay each time you receive a certain service. However, after your copay is paid, you owe nothing.
